Ono Limnological Laboratory is located on the shore of Lake Ono, an artifical lake of a constraction of a dam across the Kotoh River, in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
It covers an area of 8,600m2 and includes 36 ponds for fish culture.
Using these culture ponds and lake water,students study the culture techniques of freshwater fishes and practical methods of reseach work on the limnology and biology of freshwater organisms.
The building and facilities were reconstructed in 1994, and a new research system for DNA analysis was equipped.
